ENTWINE
2009-2011
Watercolor on paper

The landscape series, Entwine, is based on formal gardens and architectural structures at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. Like the interiors in another series, Chambers, these use traditional watercolor strategies on a large scale.

Similar in scale and complexity the three most recent pieces in the series, Esplanade for Lucy, January Crimsons, and 5000 Rose Bushes, are a suite and were completed in 2011.

Earlier pieces in the series Through the Roof 2009, Ovals and Rectangles 2010, Climbers with Blues 2010, and Pathway 2010 focused on specific parts of the Botanic garden landscape.

Please see the Drawings section of the website to view twelve studies related to Entwine.
